Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Controller with 8–15 years of experience in the Engineered Plants sector (Oil & Gas, Power, or Modular EPC). The successful candidate will own the project controls function across multiple concurrent projects, working in close coordination with the respective Project Managers to ensure delivery in line with the approved baseline.

At the core of this role is the strategic application of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP). The candidate must be capable of performing critical analysis of Primavera P6 schedules to identify cost and delivery impacts, delivering high-quality reporting, and leading risk mitigation efforts across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-Project Portfolio Management — Manage the project controls function across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring uniformity and consistency in reporting and monitoring across all functions.
  • Project Manager Coordination & Strategic Support — Work in close tandem with Project Managers, providing early predictive signals and data-driven insights to support timely decision-making.
  • Schedule & Delivery Validation — Continuously validate cost and delivery through Primavera P6 schedules; analyse the critical path to quantify the cost and delivery impact of any potential delays.

Earned Value Management (EVM) & Reporting

  • Establish and monitor the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
  • Perform detailed Earned Value Analysis, tracking Budgeted Cost of Work Performed (BCWP) against Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP).
  • Conduct Variance Analysis and derive Performance Indices (CPI/SPI) to produce realistic Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain cost and physical progress S-Curves to monitor cumulative performance against the baseline and identify slippage trends early.

Customer Interface & Governance

  • Attend progress review meetings with customers and present project status with a clear focus on milestone achievement, change management, and catch-up plans.

Risk & Contingency Management (Preferred)

  • Conduct quantitative risk assessments, including Monte Carlo analysis, to predict the probability of on-time completion and inform contingency planning.

Technical Expertise Required

  • Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) — Sound understanding of the AWP framework including Engineering Work Packages (EWP), Procurement Work Packages (PWP), and Construction Work Packages (CWP) to enable constraint-free project execution.
  • Fabrication & Welding Knowledge — Strong grasp of the fabrication lifecycle for engineered plants, including fit-up, welding, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and hydro-testing. Working knowledge of special processes such as fireproofing, refractory lining, insulation, galvanizing, and painting.
  • Physical progress validation — Ability to validate progress using physical shop-floor metrics (e.g., Inch-Dia welding progress, tonnage of structural steel).
  • Codes & standards — Familiarity with international codes including ASME Section VIII (Pressure Vessels) and ASME B31.3 (Process Piping).
  • Software — Mastery of Primavera P6 for schedule analysis and validation, and advanced MS Excel for heavy data modelling and S-Curve generation.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience — 8–15 years of core experience in Project Controls within an engineered plant or heavy industrial environment.
  • Education — B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical or Electrical). A post-graduate qualification in Project Management is an added advantage.
  • Certification — PMP® certification is preferred.
  • Domain — Prior experience on Data Centre projects will be preferred.
  • Communication — Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and maintain professional conduct with international clients.
