PMI's rarest credential · India

PgMP® for senior programme leaders.

The credential that separates project managers from programme leaders. Fewer than 3,000 PgMPs exist globally — and we are among the very few institutes led by a practitioner who actually holds it. Full 3-stage coverage: application coaching, mock panel review, 170-question exam preparation.

Why the PgMP moat matters

The credential senior EPC leaders quietly compete for.

In infrastructure, oil & gas, and heavy-engineering ecosystems, PgMP has become the discreet signal of "portfolio-level leader" — the one PMI credential that clearly separates programme leadership from project execution.

01

Rarest PMI credential in India

Fewer than 3,000 PgMPs exist worldwide. Compared with 1.4 million PMPs, this puts holders in a distinct class recognised by procurement committees and BD teams.

02

Highest earning PMI credential

PMI's Salary Survey consistently ranks PgMPs at the top of the PMI credential earning ladder — meaningfully above PMP median compensation.

03

The right credential for EPC programme leaders

A refinery expansion, a metro extension, an offshore development — these are programmes, not projects. PMP describes the mechanics; PgMP describes the leadership.

04

Signals boardroom-ready capability

The credential is validated through a written experience assessment reviewed by other PgMPs — not just a multiple-choice exam. That is why it carries weight for portfolio leadership consideration.

Three stages, all covered

The 3-stage PgMP pathway.

PgMP is not just an exam — it is application + panel review + exam. Each stage has its own preparation.

Stage 1

Application & Narratives

1:1 audit-proofing of your programme experience narratives before PMI submission. Every project written to demonstrate benefits realisation and strategic alignment.

  • Personal review of every narrative
  • PMI process areas mapped correctly
  • Audit-response coaching if selected

Panel Review Simulation

Mock 12-member panel interview that mirrors PMI's actual review process. Behavioural questioning technique, strategic framing, benefits realisation defence.

  • Practitioner mock panel
  • Behavioural question drills
  • Written narrative defence prep

170-Question Scenario Exam

Strategic-framing preparation for the 170-question format. Programme lifecycle, stakeholder engagement, governance, benefits, and portfolio-level thinking.

  • Full-length scenario mocks
  • Strategic-lens framing drills
  • Programme governance deep-dives
PgMP FAQ

The essentials.

Eligibility, application audit, panel review, salary uplift — the questions senior candidates actually ask.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is PgMP certification?
PgMP® is PMI's credential for senior leaders who orchestrate multiple related projects toward a strategic outcome. It sits one level above PMP and includes a panel-review stage where certified PgMPs assess your written programme narratives.
Am I eligible for PgMP?
You need either a Bachelor's degree + 48 months of project management + 48 months of programme management, OR a Secondary diploma + 48 months of project management + 84 months of programme management.
How is PgMP different from PMP?
PMP validates leading a single project. PgMP validates leading a portfolio of related projects toward a strategic outcome. PgMP requires substantially more experience, adds a panel-review stage, and its exam (170 questions) is more scenario-driven than the PMP exam.
Why is PgMP so rare?
Fewer than 3,000 PgMPs exist globally compared with 1.4 million PMPs. The application is rigorous, the exam is scenario-heavy, and the experience requirement filters out most candidates. That scarcity is exactly what makes the credential valuable.
Do you help with the panel review?
Yes. Our programme includes 1:1 application coaching, a mock 12-member panel interview simulation, and full 170-question exam preparation — all delivered by a PgMP-certified practitioner.
What is the salary uplift from PgMP?
PMI's Salary Survey consistently ranks PgMPs at the top of the PMI credential earning ladder — meaningfully above the PMP median. For senior EPC and infrastructure programme leaders, the differential is even larger.
